Thursday .....April 10th, 2008

Remember my dream - "Believe and you will get through this". Well, I did and I did! Thanks to God and the support and prayers of all of you, I came through this with flying colors. Both of my oncologists were very happy with my scan. Only time will tell whether a stray cell found a spot to grow somewhere in my body or a new tumor starts to grow in my lung, but I will continue to keep a positive outlook and keep my body healthy.

I will go back to see the medical oncologist every four months for a check-up and an X-ray, and I will visit the radiation oncologist in eight months. There will always be the uncertainty of, if and when the cancer will come back, but hopefully that won't get in the way of living a great life. I believe cancer was an experience I was supposed to have, and I received many gifts from it. I got even closer to Dave and my children, connected again with old friends and family. I've always believed that everything that happens to us has a gift if we look for it. It's so easy to see the negative and I feel blessed for the positive that came out of all the pain.

Thank you all again and again for the part you played in my journey. I will forever love you all for sharing your love and time with me.

Love and gratitude.......Linda

Dear Linda,
We are so thrilled with your test results and pray that every check up is as positive. We saw you many times and each time you seemed to be more like your "old" self. Remember, you have to stay strong to keep Dave "in line". He's going to hate me for that one.
On a sad note, I feel that you and Dave should know that Chuck Foster was hospitalized last night with a severe infection at the locations in his legs (where they took veins to assist in his bypass operation)after his heart attack last year. It is very touch and go. Please add him to your prayers.
Again, we are thrilled with your progress.
Love, Donna & Roger

Dear Linda and Dave;
I'm so glad to read your GREAT news. It is certainly true that both of you are "changed" and I'm glad that, for you, it is for the better. So many would become bitter and negative.
Love and prayers,
Ruth

What wonderful news! You looked so good when we saw you in St. Pete that I was sure this would be the outcome. You have been an inspiration all along the way. The "Last Hurrah" dinner in Long Beach will be even sweeter because of your joyous news. Your retirement is really a new beginning. No matter where your path leads, you will continue to be an inspiration. Linda, you rock!

Linda and Dave...All I can say is Thank God...and that I am so happy to have reconnected with you, Linda and to have met you Dave. I think you are right in that out of each tragedy, there is a gift if we recognize it. You both have been an inspiration to each of us. Many days I would try to put myself in your position, and I would not have been as heroic as you guys. Hope to see you soon..

Linda, yes, you are right when you said something like this brings people together. God does work miracles. What a blessing you have been to so many people around the world with your determination to be a survivor and faith in what you believe. Also to test what a great love you both have for one another. David, thanks for being there to encourage Linda.
Proud of you brother-in-law!!!!!!! Kisses and hugs to you both.

It was great to see you! It was amazing to see how well you "revived" - hair growing back, good appetite, tan, etc!!! Next Fall we'll be able to play cards late into the night!

Fantastic! FANTASTIC!!! I'm so very happy for you both that the news was so positive. I understand the fear that naturally comes with that sort of appointment, having been through it many times with my mom. I'm SO HAPPY everything is just the way we'd all hoped it would be!

You two have traveled the most difficult road together and this will bring you closer and will solidy a love that was already strongly evident prior to this experience. What an amazing couple you are, what an inspiration.

Can't wait to see you in Long Beach next week!! My love to you both, now and always.

Yea, Dave and Linda...what wonderful news!!! We are so happy that you received such positive results. Now just go out there and "do it"! It seems that illness does sometimes bring families closer. My Dad's illness brought my brother and I closer and we have stayed that way. Dave, you were such a rock for Linda. Let's hope that only good times are ahead for you both. Much love, from Kay and John
