Tuesday...January 14th...2008

Today was "medical day".....

Linda got to see the pulmonologist....short version....he saw it as bronchitis....HUH?....we thought we'd be going somewhere NEW!.....8 weeks.!...two programs of steroids!....3 different types of antibiotics!...and where did we go?....a new antibiotic and back on steroids!!!!!!!! The difference this time is he gave her a big prescription of a cough medication....saying she shouldn't cough....the internist wanted her to cough.....not coughing will ease the pains from persistent coughing and the throwing up....that part we liked.

He wants to let her go for 6 weeks and then have an XRay and a reexamination...he assured her she WOULD feel better shortly...we shall see!

Linda also did her acupuncture session..and has another scheduled for next week.....she really wants to get back to where she was a few weeks ago.....where we were walking 4 miles per day and she felt healthy....

Tomorrow Miss Cheryl of Linda's Journey Blog fame comes to visit for a couple of days....think of it....write enough times in this blog and you get a free visit.....many of you have qualified already....so anytime you want to show up....feel free.

Dear Linda,
I check in every week, since Judy first gave me the website so long ago,& I read each weeks updates. However, I haven't written anything for a really long time, & I saw Dave's threat to all of us who are not leaving you encouragement notes when we log on.

It goes without saying, that you have been in my thoughts & prayers since first learning about your Cancer from Judy. It sounded like you were in Salem over New Years. Were you at Judy & Roman's? If you or Judy let me know the next time that you hit town, I would love to drop by with a love gift, a hug & visit with my old sorority sister. I am truely hoping the meds can heal you from this awful Broncitis, so your body can get the rest it needs to build your immune system. Love, Rhody

Okay, Linda, now there is a PLAN. You have all of us out here backing you up. Rah, Rah, and all that stuff. We are cheering for you to feel BETTER.

OK, I'm going for the free visit. ;-) How many more posts? Because it's about 20 degrees up here in DC. I don't do cold. I do do FLA.

L, keep on keepin' on. You've come SOOO far since this time last year. This is but an annoyance that has run its course and will be dispensed with soon, as you've learned whatever you need to from it. You're on the road to Bigger and Better and Healthier. And I've got ya' covered and wrapped in that golden glow of healing love.

Here's another one responding to the "you'd better post" (j/k). You have been in my heart and prayers for all these months. You were mentioned so warmly at the Billy K dinner last weekend that I knew I had to find you again to say hello.

It is said that there are no coincidences and this is probably no exception. Yesterday my friends and I were discussing an email that swears that if you put Vicks VapoRub on your feet at night and put socks over that, it will stop coughing. Sort of along the "essential oils therapy" idea. You might try it. I don't think it could hurt and it might help.

PtsMom and I had lunch today. She sends her regards and hope to visit one of these days. I'm not clear how far away you are but she says you're close. I wish I could get there to see Miss Cheryl but I'm leaving my mom's in Tampa on Saturday. Give her my best.

I just want to leave a brief note and say that Linda, you will be in my prayers. With CC gone I have left racing behind, but I have not forgotten the beauty of the CART community. Keep your chin up, and be well!

Just keep hanging in there, Linda. It at least sounds like this doctor is really trying to get you feeling better soon.

I'm so glad to see others posting now... I was thinking of cutting back on my posts when Dave mentioned that he was going to put all this in a book (you can actually leave my posts out, Dave), but I didn't want you to think that you were not close in thought every day.

Take care, and lots of positive thoughts (and many hugs) are heading your way!

Love,
Jim and Swee
