Today is Friday...a few more days and we are back in Oregon......
Linda has felt very down and depressed the last couple/three days..it has been not so good....her blood test yesterday was good...best so far...and a surprise based on how she was feeling...we guess it was the "chemo punnies"....she wasn't sleeping well...didn't want to eat....was very mopey and on the edge of depression.....not good.
Today...She's back!!!!!
We visited a new clinic we are considering using after the holidays..changing from the one we have now...the oncologist here is great but we have a long way to travel and we feel the nurses have been less than helpful and seem not to have an understanding with cancer patients and caregivers..it hasn't been anything big but little things add up and having little things add up is not what we want to deal with....example..the nurse refuses to allow Linda to have her blood drawn through her port....in spite of the fact she...has a port...has bad veins..has had a long experience with bad blood draws...too bad it's inconvenient to the nurse. She also refuse to allow me to accompany Linda back to have her blood drawn..in spite of the fact I am her caregiver...supporter....attentive to the needed information..etc. This bothered others facing the same situation too.
So it's time for a change....
Linda had a good visit at the new place today and we just have a few loose ends to put together to make it work...and the good news is we have time to do this ahead of time....
Hockey tomorrow night after the Lightning lost three on the road..which we saw on TV each time...
Oregon beat Dave's graduate school ala mater (Oregon State 37-33 ) and heads to the Rose Bowl..good luck Ducks....it rained like hell here all day today...unbelievable..have never seen anything like it..must have been in honor of the Oregon Ducks.
Linda wants her hair to be cut like Halee Berry.....not a bad idea....

I just love hearing how pro-active the two of you are at figuring out the best path for your journey together. What a great example you set for all of us. We are having our first COLD weather, which should get us in the holiday mood if we can quit shivering! We will spend the weekend finishing up our holiday decorating and cleaning up.
Linda, rest up for all that decorating and baking ahead of you!
Marilyn
We are back from Miami and were also impressed with the rain this week! Grateful though as we have had some tree survial issues in the back yard. It has mystified the landscaper too.
So glad you think the new clinic will be more supportive and helpful when you are in residence. Postive vibes from the pros is very important.
Hope we can get together one more time before you leave. What do you suggest. hugs from grace/frank
Good to hear that you've found a better and nicer clinic.
Have fun at the game tonight... maybe they'll win just because Linda's going to be yelling for them! :) ... and I think Linda would look awesome with the Halle Berry hair do!
Take care, and have a safe trip home. I'm still bummed you're leaving before we get there.
Have a great weekend!
Love,
Jim and Swee
Hi you two! Getting cold here - just in time for your arrival. Down in the teens in Bend and won't get above freeeeeeeeezing here for the next week. Brrrrrrr! So hope you have some warm clothes for your trip back. We play Houston tonight. nancy and I are going to the game. Linda won't be able to yell at Yao Ming though. He is out for the season. Most of our team is banged up too along with Coach McMillan. He ruptured his achiles this week filling in during practice. We only have 8 out of 15 players who aren't injured. Egad!Have a good, safe trip home. Love you,
Ginnie
Linda, when you get down, just think of all of us out here rooting for you.
I was depressed when the Beavs lost also. They started out so well, I was figuring on bragging rights with my son-in-law for a whole year! Now I am just hiding out because he will really lay it on thick!
Glad to hear that the new clinic is more to your liking. When my dad was in the hospital, my sister said something to one of the nurses to the effect that non of them seemed to "care". The nurse responded with "we don't get paid enough to care." I have bad mouthed and boycotted that hospital ever since and that happened in 1980..

I'm still depressed over the Beavs loss! Chris is trying not to gloat but it doesn't help that every other Duck supporter in Seattle is egging him on. Even Taigen is saying 'Go Ducks'. Of course, I have to route for an Oregon team but it would have been great to see OSU play OSU!
Hope you continue to feel 'up' and bring home some warm Florida energy. I've been watching the ticket prices for some good ones to come see you!
Love, Wendy
