Thursday...5am .....January 7th....2010

The surgeon came out just before 5 am.....Linda did have a perforation of the sigmoid colon (last section before the rectum)...he removed about 6 inches it looked like with his spread of his hands...there was a fair amount of contamination in the abdomen which he indicated they washed out the best they could. He did put in a colostomy as he indicated he would have to.

Linda is in recovery for at least an hour and then I will be able to see her in her room....

He did say she weathered the surgery well....

Our prayers are certainly with Linda. She is for sure one of the bravest and nicest people we know! We're glad to hear she is in recovery. Our prayers continue to be with both of you. Post the address of the hospital so we can send her a card! We WILL see you both in Florida this winter!

Just got caught up. We are familiar with the surgery, as John went through it several years ago. Our prayers are with the two of you.

Dear Dave and Linda,

I really have no words to say that I think would help or bring comfort. What can be said about what Linda has endured physically these past few weeks, months and years? Or what you Dave have endured going through this horrific experience with Linda? It does seem unfair and cruel. Sometimes it is all a big mystery and it is hard to have faith.

Your experience is a wake up call for the rest of us... a reminder of how precious it all is.

I wish you a break from the waves that keep hitting and for some much earned rest.

My heart and thoughts are with you.

Love,

Sherrie
