Linda has been in her room since about 6:15 am...not too happy...but alive.....she wants to disappear for 3 weeks and get this over with....but that's not in the cards. The morphine has her pretty groggy and much doesn't make sense...but she was very glad to see me.
A doctor came in and visited and said he had been consulting on the case since midnight.....he said her condition probably started right after her colonoscopy 5 years ago and that the cancer and chemo had blocked the signals that things had gotten bad. Piecing things back together, it seemed to Linda that she had a backache for a couple of days and that was a signal but not clear enough to get help.....sadly she ended up with a very bad situation.....but again, we will make the most of it and adjust.
More tonight......

Linda and Dave, Most certainly our prayers are with you both. Not only are you amazing people but you have to be the strongest people we know. They say God never gives you more than you can handle. You both prove that point.A heartfelt prayer from Denver is going out to you. Julie and Bob Brown

Hi you two. What a shock reading your blog this morning. I called nancy to let her know. You are on my mind and in my prayers. I think maybe one of my little healing dances might be in order today. It will be warmer in Florida when you get to go. Love you both. Hugs. Ginnie
Jenn called me first thing this morning.... and while my heart is aching all that is going through my head are the words BELIEVE! I cannot even begin to wonder how the two of you are feeling or how scared you must be but I do know that the Power of Love and Strength that the two of you receive from all of us must be Incredible... There is not a person out there that is not praying for you and holding you close the our hearts...
I love you both so incredibly much... I will talk to you soon..

No matter what happens to your outside, we will always love you. It is what's inside of you that keeps all these wonderful people praying and cheering for you for all this time. It's because we care, and we are are a little greedy...we want you in our lives. So lay as still and quite as you can and let your poor little body heal. Let all of us do all the work praying for you tonight!!!

Linda and Dave:
I was coming back to this to comment on the shingles and see that now that they are the least of your worries--although they can't make the bed feel any more comfortable.
My heart is with you. My prayers also. We can only be thankful that the condition was caught before it became even more serious and that the doctor you know was there with you.
Still shaking my head over this one and how remarkable you are.
Marjorie
I am so grateful that I got to talk to you today..You were groggy, but also so upbeat. You are truly an amazing person. You will get through this "bump" and we will play once again...I love you.

Linda and Dave, Adeline and I are holding you in our thoughts. We have some idea of what you are dealing with and we wish you did not have to deal with it. Dave, make sure the docs know that you and Linda want them to do all they can for pain control. We found that sometimes in Adeline's treatments, the docs were quite cautious about prescribing pain meds when they could have provided more. We have been blessed with a long period of living with cancer and still being able to enjoy life. We send a wish that you two also get this blessing. Ted
My thoughts and prayers are with you. So is Roger's, it was 5 months ago today he lost and we want you to win. Stay strong.

Hello Lovebirds:
It's definitely, without a screaming doubt, absolutely not fair - but who said life was fair? You never have - even with all your challenges through the years; but you always show such grace as you collect yourself, start over and never give up.
In the little treasure chest of my life, I selfishly hold you up to the gold standard for courage. You give me inspiration and hope that your courage will rub off on those who love you.
As I told you today, you can do it Linda. You would be amazed how many people live with this - take your time to rest and heal; rest and heal; rest and heal.
The candles are lit, the prayers are on the way. Rest and heal... I love you my dear friend.
Mary
Thinking of you and sending LOTS of LOVE your way.
Kathy and Dave
