10:10 PM EDT.....
Well.....all the doctors have finally come through...the last one...the Neurologist just left....
What do we know....
Linda has hydrocephalus.....totally unconnected to her cancer or initial hospitalization. When we get back to Oregon, we will have another Neurologist compare this MRI with the two previous scans done over the past three years...this will tell what the pattern has been as to this situation. Linda also will need to get another MRI to check things out in 4 to 6 months.
The bottom line to us is there is no cancer in the brain....we have NOT turned the page on this cancer journey......and that is wonderful news.
We have yet to have the results of the echocardiogram....tomorrow we should know....we suspect there will be no bad news there.
Linda has been running a fever since last night....100.3 last night...100.1 this morning....100.6 tonight.....she will not be released from the hospital until the fever is gone....we suspect she will be there at least another day.
Linda is being put on a solid food menu starting tomorrow....no more Ensure....which caused many problems today....
Linda is still on a heavy regimen of antibiotics....she still suffers from this "Florida crud".....lots of persistent coughing...upper respiratory congestion and sinus swelling.....
The good news is the cancer is unrelated to what is going on...other than perhaps lowering the resistance to this nasty crud.
Other news....
As we mentioned..the Florida home has been sold..papers are being signed and the title company is working to close this up by the end of the week or the first of next week.
What then?
We have many options....we have an agreement to stay in the house until our flights on April 27th....flying on Southwest Airlines, we have the ability to check 4 items of luggage....up to 200 pounds.....so we can send lots of personal stuff home....at no additional cost....like those other airlines (have you heard Spirit airlines now will charge for carry ons).....silly....now people will wear all their week's worth of vacation clothes on to the airplane.
We also have friends who are willing to store our car in their garage as they are leaving for Canada to their home...for the next 6 month...so we can drive the car back with the rest of the personal things at any time....or have someone else drive it to Oregon....
Then of course we can drive ourselves back...depending on how Linda feels...and her wants....and I'm not voting for that...we shall see....
I think this pretty much covers everything...it has been a stressful...sleepless time...but the gift is NO new cancer.....particularly in the brain...

Okay, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Rest up and move on.
Marilyn
Linda & Dave;
Basically great news. Hopefully, all these other things can be "cured".
Thanks, Dave, for keeping all of us informed so that we can be part of the team fighting with the two of you to resolve these health issues.
Love and prayers,
Ruth Ann
Good lord!! Can't I take a vacation anymore? Every time I go out of town and miss reading the blog for a couple days, something huge and frightening happens! What is it with you two? Knock it off!!
Seriously, I'm SO glad to hear that the tests have turned out well. Hoping Linda feels much better and this weirdness with fluids in the brain can be fixed up quickly and easily. Good heavens. What will Linda think up next?
Keeping you both in my thoughts. I won't be back from Chicago until Saturday night. Could you please try not to do anything dramatic while I'm gone (or any other time)?
My love to you both, as always.
Great news! Just what we have been waiting to hear. Get some well deserved rest and knock the crud out of that Florida crud!

No cancer in the brain--that is awesome news! Hope the fever and Florida crud are gone soon, and all the pieces fall into place smoothly.

Linda, Linda, Linda, what is going on down there? Just got myself caught up on the blog on Sunday and now just three days later I see you are in the hospital and very very sick. I am thinking of you my very dear friend and extra prayers that you will be better and home again very soon. Dave you take care of yourself as well, you need rest in order to stay healthy. I know it is easy for all of us to say that, I do continue to pray you will have extra strength. I love you both! Judy
All sounds better. Get rid of the fever and Florida. I am there if needed for a cross country drive with bro. Remember our drive from Las Vegas to Yuma? Linda - lots of rest and thank you for your amazing efforts.
Many answered prayers tonight. Once again, thank you for letting us know.
You sound exhausted, Dave. Only because you are, I'm sure. Get some rest. We'll all be here waiting for you when you are ready to post again.
Marjorie
ok so there are plenty of us who can and will make a trip to get your belongings.... I (We) just want the two of you home....
Please dont sweat the small stuff, which I already know you do not...
I love you both
Julie

Love you both - Linda you are so incredibly amazing and strong, to keep getting these obscure illnesses on top of cancer and to keep on moving on with life regardless. I admire you so much and hope I (never, ever come down with even half the scary stuff you have dealt with but if I do...) can follow your example if in similar situations. As everyone has said, hope you both get rest, rest, rest and heal. And let me know if you need anything.
Love, Wendy
Good news on not having Brain cancer. Hopefully the fever comes down today and you get to go home.
