Monday Evening...Martin Luther King Holiday...January 21st, 2008

Cleared to continue.....

Linda called the Clinic first thing this morning and was scheduled to come in immediately for a blood test...and possible transfusion.....

The good news is that Linda's tests showed she was in good shape...and could have started the fourth chemo cycle immediately.....but all agreed she needed a couple more days to recoup! Why does she feel so bad and emotionally drained...."chemo punies"......it is the cumulative effect of the cycles so far and time is the "healer".....emotionally she wants it over...and it "ain't over yet".

So there was no need to do anything...she could have done an infusion of liquids but she has been drinking water religiously.....so no need to do that.

So home we came....and Wednesday Linda will start her last chemo cycle....and 21 days later we plan on heading to some warm Florida weather.

I've got some medical tests tomorrow so no eating today....not a lot of fun...that's about all I'm saying.....

Dave

Hey Guys, the weather looks so beautiful.. I live in Sacramento so the snow never comes here. I know you guys probably get tired of it, but I am jealous. I love that kind of weather. You two hang in there.. Thoughts and prayers as always coming your way... Love Ya, Lil Sis

That's great about Linda's tests--hope your tests come out OK too, Dave! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Tests that aren't a lot of fun and require no eating? Hmmm... I think I just had that same kind of test myself in December. With my family history, I had to start colonoscopies earlier than most (at 40... or almost 40, anyway) and get to have one every 5 years. Aren't I lucky? These are the joyful things family can pass down to you. ;-)

Hope all goes well with your tests, Dave, regardless of what they are. They only seem awful until they're over... and then they seem like they were no big deal.

Keep warm and muscle through this last bit of treatment. You can both start to recover soon! Just keep focused on that warm Florida sunshine!

My love to you both, as always.

It is no wonder that you are both beaten down a bit (or a lot) but you are in the home stretch. This time around you can really say to yourself "THIS IS THE LAST TIME!!"
I may be in Flordia in April...and am looking forward to it myself...
By the way, lost my address book when my computer went dead. If you send me an e-mail I will have it again..thanks
