What a day....what a day to be O-V-E-R!
Linda's surgery ran almost 1 and a 1/2 hour late so we were behind on her chemo and my doctor appointment...she now has a port!

Linda now has a port identified above...a "power port"!...a fancy one that allows for the infusion of scanning material too. she's got a couple of surgical cuts on her upper left chest from the insertion of the catheter into the pulmonary vein and then to implant the port...but they use glue to close the wounds so she shouldn't see much after a while.
Getting chemo today was a "snap" compared to the last two years...the infusion nurses were even excited.
Because of Linda's difficulties last week, the Oncologist cut her infusions each by 20%....he said it would not compromise the effort. Her blood workup was good...the platelets were quite high (duh!)
So tomorrow she rests...nothing to do except read and sleep....hopefully the weather will be a bit better.
Dave had his lip looked at by the specialist today....Monday it comes off....not the lip but the "thing" or swelling inside the lip....about a 1/2 hour surgery the Doctor said. My hope is that that is the end of it....

Thanks so much for the effort of posting today.....despite how crazy it was for the two of you. Any time I read that something will be easier for Linda, I get a smile on my face. So glad that the port is in.
We have been very cool around here......the weather, that is. My tomato plants have been shivering!

Great to hear that the port is in now. It's the weekend, so have a lazy, relaxed, 'do nothing' weekend as you both definitely deserve that. Wish I could do that... but I've to work the Blackbeard Pirate Festival all weekend! Pirates everywhere!! Aarrrgghhh!! :)

Finally, you got me linked to your postings! Thank you Linda and Dave for filling us in. What a journey!!I'm afraid we'll be medically informed and educated beyond all expectations and aspirations! As long as it facilitates jumping all the hurdles on this "all-terrain-journey" for you, Linda-love,I even study power-ports and related info, but most of all, I'm focused on your smiles in beautiful surroundings ... it is YOU, the ultimate "Go-go-girl", wild-woman-of the-wild, embodying "Lebensfreude" in any live-given circumstances. You are an enormously inspiring woman with a greatly co-conspiring supportive husband (I like to hear he still takes "orders"!) Sounds like you have great plans... so we just have to hope and pray for your treatments to give you the better than expected results with less than usual side-effects in a quicker than speedy way ...and that ONE buyer that cannot live without your house...! I think that will be satisfactory! We are ready to count all those blessings a.s.a.p.and be grateful for each.
So thankful to have experienced your friendship over all these years! Looking forward to so much more! I'm going to be tuned in from now on, you can count on it!
