Great insights today.....
Linda's visit to her primary physician...as a followup to her hospital stay.....The doctor was very surprised Linda got out of the hospital as fast as she did..the doctor described it as a testimony to Linda's spirit. She re emphasized that this was a very critical situation and that the hospital was unable to get Linda's blood pressure up with hydration and had to resort to drugs to raise the pressure....and then to have Linda bounce back within a day was amazing...it just doesn't happen. The doctor also said that the signs of the pneumonia were not normal...and Linda responded that what was thought as reactions to a medication was most likely the onset of the pneumonia. Linda is forewarned that any sort of "different feeling" needs to be accessed from now on.
The doctor indicated she is very scared or worried about her role in Linda's care as she has gotten involved so long into Linda's situation and that she is not familiar with the cancer drugs and all...of course we are used to that and understand that the Oncologist is the "main man"..... but the primary physician is kept in the loop and helps as can.....so no concerns there.
Linda had another insight today...she is recovering from the pneumonia and all...finished her antibiotics today...feeling pretty good...so what does she do...what does Linda do...OVERDOES IT...of course....paints for over two hours...in spite of repeated warnings from her caregiver...me...then she pays the price.....falls at the end and hurts herself...not seriously...but a message to take it easy...and she is very fatigued tonight...again...she says she has learned..again...we shall see....
Today...sold the carpet....yea....got Direct TV....yea....the used hardwood floor is out of the house...yea....the toilet from downstairs doesn't fit upstairs...boo...why didn't I check before tearing both out and hauling one up and one down....a lesson.
Tomorrow ...finish small projects....get ready for the big project...the hardwood floor..

Okay, Linda... (as I'm wagging my finger at you)... you need to listen to your caregiver as he does know what he's talking about when he tells you to slow down and not over work yourself.
It sounds like you're moving along quite well with the house - good job, Dave. :) Just make sure you pace yourself too!
Take care, and have a great week!

Linda, if you won't listen to your caregiver, you had better listen to the Peanut Gallery or we will come and get ya! Rest up....Dave, you, too, need your rest.

Linda, did you listen to ALL your caregivers??? They are concerned, although you have this miracle recovery down by now, you need to take it slow: you just finished the antibiotics! Give your body a chance to build up - you are not in the construction business at this home! I imagine you can't wait to move in to another perfectly remodeled place, but there is help available! (A call away!) I should have the ambitions and drive of you and Dave to finish my "loose-end-projects" around here, but its more fun to help neighbors and do a massive pruning/weeding job as a surprise for them!
Dave, I can tell you are really putting on a lot of pressure on yourself to work "for two" - don't forget the break and rest part! You are the caregiver, foremost, so make sure you recharge your energy every so often.
Praying for both of you and sending you hugs and love!

Peanut #3 chiming in here to give another stern warning. You are giving Dave quite a handful lately aren't you? But we know he's up to it!
Stay well!
