Today we received sad news that Edith Santoro has passed away....a call from her daughter Nancy. Who was Edith?........Jimmy Vasser's number one fan and a great lady who attended Champ Car races in her 80's. She will be missed...always a favorite of Linda's...and many others.

Now I guess Swee Hart is the new number one Jimmy fan. The above picture of Jimmy and Edith was taken at last spring's Portland testing.

I am fairly sure I am not Jimmy's #1 fan... think he has one who flies in from Germany just to see him for a weekend!! Thanks for thinking of me though... (LOL)

What first drew me to Champ Car(CART) was how accessible the drivers were to the fans. Just look at the smile on Edith's face. It says it all! What a blessing for the drivers to be in a position to bring such joy to people.
Dave and Linda, your work at the track has also enabled many fans to enjoy the race experience in a richer way. You helped to create an environment at the tours, forums, and dinners where fans developed long-time friendships that grew beyond the boundaries of the race weekend. You helped to put that same smile that Edith has on all our faces.
