Monday Evening......A Florida Evening.....November 5th

This is Linda with one of my rare check-ins. I'm enjoying the Florida sunshine immensely. The sun feels so good on my usually cold body. I know I'm going to hate to have to leave it for the winter of Oregon, but therapy will take me home plus the holidays are coming and I want to be close to our family.

I'm impatient to feel well again, especially appetite wise. That is the hardest part for me, not wanting to eat, but needing to so badly to put some meat back on my bones. My neighbor here brought me some custard pudding today to entice me. Full of whole milk and eggs, it should help. I'll have some soon for my evening dessert.

Thanks for your continued caring.

Love and gratitude.....Linda

Linda reminded me to report in on my MRI.....the Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor had ordered it to see if there was a tumor causing the great loss of hearing in my left ear...the short answer is.....no tumor...(phewwwww). He called today today and said they had to do the scan to rule this out as it is a real possibility and they needed to eliminate it right off the bat.

Now he said for me to go ahead and get tested again for a hearing aid. This will keep me from turning my head to the left when someone is talking on my left side. I don't know why these doctors have been coming up with stressful things for me to do (like the phantom heart murmur last month) with everything Linda has going on....enough!

Dave

ps...the other good news is that the loss is not due to the Champ Cars....the doctor said both ears would have loss if this was the case...he thinks it is a virus caused loss...just like Linda suffered years ago (she lost most all her hearing though in the left ear...and it is not correctable by a hearing aid).

So glad you made it and are starting to eat without complication!! Just sorry we aren't there with you (just missed you). We'll be back in January and hopefully you will also - I'll be glad to cook for you and Dave!!

I am loving you and missing you! The holidays will be great to have you here and after your last treatment you can get back to your sunshine...
I would really love to send Jillian to Florida for a visit for Spring Break.
She would LOVE it... and since she is a solo flyer now it would be good for her...

I wish we were going to be in Florida to see you two. Unfortunately, I had to come back to Michigan. Was home a week for my mom's 80th birthday party. Went back to Florida on Monday last. On Wednesday my mom had two small strokes so Thursday headed back to Michigan. She is out of the hospital and doing well. Will be here two weeks - Neil won't be back until after the 18th of November. Thank the Lord he let us keep mom longer.

We miss you two so much and look forward to seeing you. Please take good care of yourselves and know all our love and prayers are with you.

Love

Terese and Neil

Sounds so nice there! Wish we could join Jillian there for spring break, but probably can't go this year since my project's go-live date is May 1.

Glad to hear you are both doing better! We are sorry you have to come back to the cold northwest but will be so excited to see you again in just over two weeks!

Love Chris, Wendy and Taigen

Thank goodness the hearing issue is not from the glorious sounds of Champ Car! We miss you and need you both back asap! You've got five months now without any races to heal. We'll see you in Long Beach mid-April!

I know Darrell sent you an e-mail with all of our thoughts and prayers. Just want you to know you continue to be in our prayers. Have fun in the sun. Nebraska is especially windy and cold. Shar Stock

I'll second Katie's comments! I'll expect to see you at Long Beach next year. I won't expect you to be 100%, but I'll expect at least 75% (if not more)! So, get through this next bit of treatment and start getting better. We need you on hand to make the next Champ Car season a great one.

Keep soaking up that Florida sunshine and store some in reserve for when you return to Oregon.

And Dave, get that hearing aid, so you can hear the Champ Cars properly!

Love to you both.

Enjoy the warmth and the sand between your toes! Weather here has been beautiful, but the powers that be are talking about a change by the end of the week. Heal, rest, gain strength, and lucky you...eat whatever!
