Sunday...Late Afternoon...August 12th

Today is a slooowwwww day..not much new to report.

I was reminded today that Linda and I wrote "love letters" to each other last Valentine's Day...instead of buying cards and candy......and this followed an incident that happened shortly before that time where Linda had gotten up during the night and had fallen ....hitting her head and ...and....and. The net result was a trip by ambulance...a night at the hospital...and fear of losing a love one.

Anyway...the letter I wrote:

My Love Letter to Linda

The other night when you were fainting and hurt...it crossed my mind that there might be life without you...it was a most frightening thought as we are so much interlinked together.

We should and will live in the present for what time we have and my commitment is to continue to work to be in the moment...as I can't see myself wanting to be by myself...or with another "wild woman"...

I love you and always will...this is the end of my love letter but not my love for you.

I love you.

Dave

This , I found, today...how much it fits the "new moment" we are in...

We just returned from Road America. Of course, we had many inquiries about how you are doing, Linda. For those who weren't aware, I directed them to the blog.
The more time we spend in your shoes, the more we appreciate all that you have done for the Champ Car community. We know we can never take your place. By the way, John looked great in his new CCIC shirt..........but you look sooooo much better!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful Love Letter... It brought tears to my eyes and I shared it with Ray. We are both inspired and want to create a love like yours. The relationship that we see in the two of you is such a model of what we want to achieve. The tools that you share with us are so valuable and we cherish them...

I love you both, and Ray is sending Linda lots of hugs since he did not get to give her one.

Oh, Dave. That's a beautiful love letter. I can only hope that someday I have someone in my life as wonderful as you. What an inspiring, wonderous love you and Linda have for each other. Love makes all the difference in facing life's challenges. -Cheryl J.
