Day 1 in Anchorage, Alaska.....
Last night the last 100 miles of the flight was rough..and the landing a bit anxious for everyone except the two guys in the exit row who were drunk as skunks..which heightened all the anxiety a bit higher....but we survived.
The first thing we noticed in Alaska was that no one had voted for Sarah Palin...how then did she get elected Governor...my sense is folks are glad to see her gone.
Today we went Alyeska and rode the tram to the top to have lunch...courtesy of Brother Darron and Sister in law LaVelle...a bit cold and wet but fun.
Linda is doing pretty good..she doesn't feel the "energy" from the excitement of the trip...which worries her a bit..she just can't put her finger on it...but the energy seems a bit low....we will monitor.
Friend Roger had emergency surgery today......again..high risk....but did well....we all pray for his recovery....
Pictures of the plane ride....the tram ride....Darron and LaVelle....etc.

Oooohhhh.... looks just a tad too cold for me! (ha! ha!) Glad you made it there safe and sound...now you just need to kick back and enjoy yourselves! Keep those pics coming... love seeing them! :)
Take care,
Jim and Swee
Low energy, guess we all have those days....but Linda, that smile radiates good health and well-being. Have fun...like I ever have to tell you to do that.
Marilyn
Well, it LOOKS like she has the energy! Perhaps it's a bit of worry for Roger that's holding Linda back a little. Wouldn't surprise me. That kind of thing can take a surprising amount of energy out of anyone.
Take it easy, have fun and take lots of pictures. Love to you both, as always.
Well now Miss Linda (said in my best southern drawl) even y'all have got to understand that no one can have extra energy every day. Not even our darlin' Miss Linda.
Sometimes we just need to relax into the trip and let the scenery and the people sweep by in one beautiful kaleidescope.
Hi Linda and Dave,
Ken and I keep hoping that one of these days you will stop by on your way to coast. We live on the Corvallis Country Club - one house
away from the third hole - so we are close to HWY. 34/Philomath Blvd. that you take going to Newport. Going to the Beaver game tomorrow morning - taking breakfast pizzas to tailgater since it is a 11:30 am game. Linda, checking up on you and glad to know you are still going gung ho and enjoying life. Have a childhood friend that just had her second bout with breast cancer, but is doing well and like you, soaks up every minute she can of "doing life" and all it has to offer. Our thoughts are always with you and will never forget our little Jonathan. He would have been 31 years old this month?
Love,
Susan & Ken
