A quiet day...perhaps...
Today we are "laying low".....except Linda kept taking the Christmas decorations to the garage....today is supposed to be a resting day for us...as soon as the Oregon (Sun Bowl)game is over, of course.
Daughter in law Jenn sent this picture today.....it says a lot....

Linda and I agree that it shows we have aged a lot in a short period of time.....
It communicates a saddness and a quietness......
"It is what it is"....we'll get through it and 2008 will be a better year.

Put on a couple of Champ Car hats, get yourselves some sun, and you'll look younger in no time. I understand how much sadness can work its way into your life during this sort of struggle, but you will be happier soon and your lives will get better. As you start to recover, you'll get back to the activities and interests that make you happy. And you'll see all the friends who care so much about you.
Take 2008 slow and easy. Don't push yourselves. We all want to see you in Long Beach, but we'll understand if you hold off until Portland (but no later than that!).

P.S. We had those funny hats at our family Christmas dinner, too--we must have bought the same Christmas poppers! Did yours come with junky toys and bad riddles, too?
We're getting ready for a visit tonight with some great friends but wanted to make sure the two of you know how many of us will wish you the best of New Years and good health in 2008.
Just wanted to let you know that we're thinking of both of you as you ring in the new year. Just take things easy, one day at a time, and soon, you'll both be back doing things you love! :) Until then... just know that we're all praying for both of you, and that 2008 will bring good health and happiness to you!

Hey guys, you are so close to the finish line and it is only natural that a little depression sets in..Just remember that 2007 is out of here and 2008 will be a time rediscovering all the good there is to life. You two have a beautiful relationship and a very deep love for each other along with a zillion friends and family who care so much about you. Take it easy, don't feel the rush to be "normal" the new norm might be a better thing...there is a reason you are having to take this path, you know...I have a feeling it is going to lead to something wonderful for you two...
