A letter to Linda

Linda,
You once told me that you were NOT afraid of dying. Your concern was for what you would miss doing- your "unfinished business" in this world. Throughout your journey, you showed me how determined you were to carry out that business.
Linda, now that your earthly time is over, I speak not only as a member of the Peanut Gallery, but also as your friend when I say that your spirit will be with me as I continue to practice what you have taught me so well. From you I have learned to spend more time with those I love. I appreciate more intensely the power of a smile, a hug, and a sense of humor. Because of you I know that knowledge is power and living in the moment is the way to be. Your journey has helped me to get more enjoyment out of the warmth of the sun and from the partnership of a good marriage. I have learned to do a better job of speaking up for myself and I am trying to eat only when I am hungry. (The latter still needs more work!) Thanks to you, I spend more quality time with family and friends. My bucket list grows as I cross off things from it.
The truth, as I see it, is that "unfinished business" is what makes us not only human, but also connected. We are truly never finished, but if we have done a good job on this earth, we pass the "businees" on to those we love.
Thank you, Linda, for all you have taught me.
