Saturday...February 21st...2009

Linda went to bed early..a bit tired from a long day...she participated in the open house for the spec home she constructed and has had on the market....but she's in pretty good shape....the medication is controlling the cough...a much....much difference...to the good. This is her week off from chemo...the next cycle of treatment starts next Friday morning.

We have scheduled a flight to Florida on the 27th of March ...returning on the 9th of April...this is scheduled between treatments..our plan is to purchase a folding wheel chair and to use it even if she doesn't need it...we have asked to have it stowed in the cabin of each leg of the flights so it can be used at all times....of course all can change if she doesn't feel up to it...

Daughter Janine will just be ending a week at our place in Florida and daughter Wendy, son in law Chris and grand daughter Taigen will be arriving soon after us...

Son Jeff is doing the Wings Seminars Crossover Seminar this coming week..we are really excited...he attended 20 years ago but was a bit young...this should be an incredible experience for him....we will be his "cheerleaders".

As I sit reading this with tears in my eyes I have nothing but the highest regards for both of you.
You both truly do know the meaning of "Journey of Life"

We are flying out tomorrow from Tampa to be with our close friends in Medford, OR. They found lung cancer in him in early Jan. Since then he has lost 55 lbs and when we spoke to him on Tues. he sounded very weak and tired. He has chosen not to fight the battle (he is 75 years old) and they have hospice working with him. He also is experiencing kidney and heart problems so it's a battle for sure. We want to spend some quality time with him and his wife...knowing over the years we have shared so many wonderful times together.

We fly into Vegas switch planes to Sacramento, where my closest girlfriend from So. Cal will join
us for the drive up. She is very experienced in dealing with cancer..we lost her husband two years ago with Esophageal
cancer. He was one of the first of our friends to pass away from cancer. We have lots of plans to help out with fixing extra meals,
washing, cleaning and gardening to make sure their lives are burdened by these things.

I will share your blogs with everyone when we get there...so much can be learned from others and while we wish you did not have to do this...we find it an inspiration that your story is being told.

Sending wishes for a peaceful day filled with those you love surrounding you...

Hugs,
Terry and Dave (at "The Woods")

Hi guys,

Glad to hear Linda, that your cough is much better. Please find some R&R in all of this. How nice that Jeff is involved in Wings. We know it has been a real force in your lives. Hopefully your time in florida will go as planned. We know it is a place you find such peace in. Love to you both, Kay and John

I am glad to hear that you are getting some relief with your cough. I lost my best friend to pancreatic cancer 10 months after I lost my husband. She was diagnosed in April and passed in September, 1999. She was and is the only friend I have had in many years. I find it hard to get close to people, because they seem to always leave in one form or another. What you two have is something very special, and it appears that you have quite the following. And well deserved. I often wonder if I were to pass if I had made any positive impact in anyones life? I would hope so. Isnt what this is all about?
Anyway Love Ya Both,
Keep on, Keepin on.. Vicky

Hey cuz (and Dave),

Am just now getting caught up on your blog and had not expected to be conversing with you in Oregon this time of year. What a trip you've had and are having! By the way, I've been that physician sitting on the airplane with a passenger not feeling well at least a half dozen times in my career. I'm amazed at how often it happens. I'm glad you're taking some precautions for your trip back south. Linda, you are a very strong person, with a wonderful loving husband, children, grand's and so many friends that are embracing you right now. Let me throw my arm around you as well.
I'll give you a call soon.

Love to you and Dave,

Ron (and family)

Very happy to hear that the cough is still calming down and Linda is feeling much better. That alone should make this current battle so much easier.

Another weekend without much breathing for me. I really need to take more lessons from you two.

Love to you both, as always.
